Welcome & About

Updated: Mar 8, 2020

Welcome to the blog! I thought I'd start this internet adventure logically and share a bit about myself and my reasons for taking up a little piece of the web...

I am a recent LL.B graduate interested in legal development and challenges around Technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Intellectual Property (IP). Originally a Canadian, I've been in the United Kingdom for around 2.5 years where I've been both working and studying Law. Currently, I'm in the process of qualifying as a Lawyer in Ontario (with other jurisdictions in mind). In my spare time, I conduct research on IP Law with City, University of London faculty and volunteer at Start-Ed, a Commercial Legal Clinic focused on helping Start-Ups and Small Businesses navigate legal issues. I'm also an avid photographer and traveler who loves capturing the beauties of London and wider Europe.

The Transition is aimed at providing helpful information about the Canadian qualification process to UK Law Students wishing to qualify in Canada and Canadians considering legal studies in the UK. Studying and working abroad are phenomenal ways to broaden your perspectives and grow both personally and professionally. I hope this blog helps you make informed and strategic decisions regarding the next steps in your legal career.

Finally, this is a place of thought. Always a student at heart, I love to think through legal issues related to technology and innovation. Occasionally, you'll find my thoughts on articles and developments in Technology Law as it relates to AI, IP, and tech innovation.

Things to Look Forward to

Within the next few days, I'll be posting some key resources for UK Law students who are graduating this year and want to qualify in Canada. If you are unsure what your next steps are or completely intimidated by the myriad of steps you need to take, you won't want to miss this. You can click the subscribe button on the homepage to receive email notifications about new posts.

In the mean time, feel free to follow me on Twitter for more daily thoughts on technology, law and other random stuff (sometimes Brexit, thought I think we are all pretty tired of that by now). If you are looking for a break from law, my photos live on Instagram for your enjoyment.

See you soon!
